According to the neighbors, Joss was prancing in the neighborhood with a pitchfork. His neighbor came and they started arguing over something. The nature of their argument is unclear.
Argument between the two neighbors escalated with one shooting the other. Joss’s killer is facing murder charges. His name is Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, he is 56 years old. He is in custody and according to reports he is agreeing to the crime.

A woman living in the same neighborhood told the press that they have been arguing since forever. She is living there for six years and she has never seen them not fighting over one thing or the other.
The woman also claimed both Joss and Alvarez have used guns before on more than one occasion. They have opened fire during arguments but never directly on one another. The rounds would be heard from both driveways. There are several bullet holes in the woman’s house to prove her statement as her home was in the crossfire. There are other homes with bullet holes too due to the rampant gunfire from the two.
She didn’t want to take any sides, instead she declared it a very sad incident which should have been avoided. In her plight she told that the police were involved before but still nothing changed and now a man is dead with his future lost.
Other neighbors also shared the same point of view. They said Alvarez lives only 50 yards from Joss’s. He shot Joss in the actor’s driveway. According to neighbors the incident is tragic and sad but is it really shocking?
Things were bad, too bad that it was reported several times by people to the police. A police division of San Antonio responsible for crime prevention in the neighborhood was assigned to mediate the feud. Police have responded at least 40 times to street over incidents involving the actor. It has only been since January 2024.

According to Gonzales, the couple was subjected to harassment over their sexuality by Alvarez and other neighbors. It was going on for years and the actor has lost his home due to homophobia of neighbors.
The actor and his husband lost their longtime house in a fire last February. It also engulfed their pet dog. Gonzales claimed the fire was intentional. On the day of killing, the couple went to the property. They wanted to collect a check for fire-victims but the sight waiting for them distraught them.
The bones of their precious pet were laid out in front of the property. Gonzales shared his account of the incident in a Facebook post. Upon seeing the remains of their dog the couple started crying and yelling when Alvarez approached them.
The newcomer to the scene started loudly with homophobic slurs before raising the gun and opening fire.

The police are still looking into the details of a heart wrenching murder. As far as the claims of homophobia by Gonzales are concerned, police say they take such claims very seriously. However, no evidence of homophobia is noticed so far. The police are looking into the incident from all angles and nothing can be said before it is concluded.

Hate crime or not, a murder is a murder. It is a very sad state of affairs where a star loved by many was shot dead in his own driveway. His husband had to watch the entire episode in horror.
