Between the mountains, walking through the trees, enjoying the waves and sea breeze, hustling with the tan after returning home, yes! I’m talking about the picnics. It’s that time of the year again when you are returning to shorts and summer dresses and getting rid of all the layers that bother you on sunny and sweetening days. Summer is already here, and I don’t want to get pissed one more time, just like the way I did last year when I had a few trips, and my bags and baskets were incomplete. However, it’s a fact that you learn with your experience, and last year taught me a lot. You never know when traveling will come your way. Especially if your family is anything like mine, you must be ready because anything can come your way. Plans overnight and sudden city breaks can often be overwhelming.
However, taking a break and cherishing those moments is always worth it. Spending time with your family and friends is something we don’t do for the whole year. So live those moments and cherish the memories later. But don’t forget to be prepared beforehand, and don’t get mad at yourself for forgetting anything. That is what I did during my year of traveling. So, now I’ve decided to put it on the list and have everything on my go-to list when the time comes.
Moreover, it’ll benefit you as well. I mean, not that you don’t know, of course, but it’s kind of a guide that will come in handy for you, especially if you’re a beginner in traveling. Meanwhile, don’t forget the fact that even in life, we come as travelers, so we have to keep the limited stuff in our luggage bags and buckets that we carry along.
I tried to sort things according to the travel type you make. Most importantly, the fashion you curate while living good moments with your friends and family and some essentials you need to keep.
Short and Sweet Picnics
Some plans are sudden, but trust me, those are the best plans. Now, whether it’s beach days or a walk among the trees, this will be the best time to cherish. What could be a better way to connect with your own people over food and drinks without having any plights in your head while you’re out in nature? Relieving all your stresses and cherishing the presence of your family and friends is the best gift you can ever give to them. Just making it right is essential so things don’t get ruined. Here’s a small guide that you can look into.
Packing for Beach and Park Vacations
A soft, comfortable picnic blanket sets the stage for relaxation and leisure. Opt for a waterproof or picnic-specific blanket that offers both comfort and practicality. However, make sure that your fashion remains constant. Maintain your style and hygiene, especially for beach picnics, which might get too sandy, watery and windy.
- Fashion Essentials: swimsuits and summer dresses for women to stay airy and lightweight. Meanwhile, men need to keep an extra pair of shorts, and a Hawaii suit will attract many sweet chicks.
- Self-Care Essentials: Sunscreen is a must, so be sure to reapply every two hours. Still, the tan will come, so just do it to have less. A moisturises should always remain there. A hair comb, a napkin box, and a first-aid kit. Lastly, don’t forget a hat.
- Picnic Basket: An anti-bee spray. You might need it if you’re booking a hut near the shore. Trash bags for litter, extra plastic bags, and a handwash instead of soaps. You may also need some extra clothes. A big mat always feels like home on the beach.
- Food Essentials: avoid fruits like mangoes and other watery fruits that might attract bees. Bananas, cherries and grapes can be good. Keep some packet food you want once you come out of the water hungry. Disposable plates and cups.
- Folding chairs are the best thing on beach days. So make your beach days the best with the above requisitions.
Packing for Adventure Travel
This counts as camping or hiking, which you often plan when the weather is pleasant. Alternatively, you may receive a long weekend as a bonus and simply plan a trip.
- Living Essentials: a tent or camp. A thick vinyl mat to spread inside the camp or outside for a bonfire.
- Gear for hiking: if you plan it in summer, keep an extra pair of shorts, t-shirts and atleast two over-shirts. Women should keep a lousy top to pair with shorts. On the contrary, if the weather gets frigid, make sure you have that gilet that you might often need to layer. A pair of cargos will work best on colder hikes. Don’t go for the slim fits again. Also, keep an extra tracksuit; you’ll thank me later.
- Extra Essentials: A multi-functional bag with multiple pockets to organize everything according to your needs. Don’t forget a lighter, a matchbox and a knife in your bag. A cross-body bag always comes in handy for keeping stuff like a stash, license and cards.
- Safety Gear Essentials: You often need a pair of gloves, safety glasses, and a folding knife. A fake gun is also needed in case you have to face some wild animals.
Traveling gets fun and exciting once you have all the necessary objects instead of having extra stuff of no use. Make sure your supplies are limited, but all of them are essentials.
Packing for Long-Term Travel
Some of the basic essentials remain constant whether it’s your long-term traveling or you go for a day or two, like safety gear, multifunctional and cross-body bags and self-care products.
Packing for City Breaks
Exploring different cities of your country and other countries can be equally fun. You get to explore the culture and the way of living of people of different ethnicities and races. It’s always fun to connect with people from different areas.
- Consider climate: clothing essentials according to the environment. A few tops and bottoms—denim, cargo and shorts when I say bottoms—make sure your clothes bag is a capsule. Pick the tops and bottoms that can make multiple sets of outfits. This way, you can pack light and still have a variety of outfits. Ensure comfortable shoes and tech gear, too.
- Essentials: Laundry solutions, toiletries and some basic cosmetics.
- Others: Your necessary documents and cards.
- Accessories: Shades, a pair of gloves, swimwear and at atleast two scarves and bandanas. Keep some organizers to maximize the space of your luggage. Also, some research should be done about the multi-using items.
Keep all of these. However, the downtown city will also convince you to buy something that reminds you of the place and even the basic necessities you can instantly forget or need. So, it’s comparatively easier to make your living convenient for those days. So you can explore as much as you can.
Conclusion
Packing for a trip can often be both thrilling and daunting simultaneously. Whether you embark on a relaxing beach trip with your loved ones or partner, an adventurous hike with your friend’s squad, or traveling for a business trip- knowing what to bring together can make a world of difference. So, I want to ensure you and I are well-prepared for any adventure that comes your way.
